From April 15 to 17, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, the Governors Association of the ROK, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China jointly hosted the 20th Local Government Exchange Seminar Between China and the Republic of Korea and the 22nd K2H Symposium on International Exchanges of Civil Servants in Changsha, Hunan Province. Fan Huafeng, Deputy Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office (NXFAO), attended the events.
The Local Government Exchange Seminar Between China and the Republic of Korea and the K2H Symposium on International Exchanges of Civil Servants serve as important platforms for connecting local governments of China and the ROK, promoting economic and trade cooperation and enhancing people-to-people friendship. Approximately 260 participants attended this year’s events, including representatives from 17 provincial, metropolitan, municipal, and county governments of the ROK; officials from ROK local government offices in China; ROK civil servants dispatched to Chinese local governments; delegates from 31 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities; and alumni of the K2H program. The events focused on three core areas: mutual learning of local governance experiences, exchange of cultural and tourism resources, and complementarity of economic, trade, and industrial strengths, with participants engaging in joint discussions on cooperation and drawing a shared blueprint for the future.
During the events, NXFAO held one-on-one discussions with representatives from ROK local governments, including Gyeongsangbuk-do, Cheongyang County of Chungcheongnam-do, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, exchanging views on further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as bilateral trade, friendship city relations, and people-to-people and youth exchanges. NXFAO also extended sincere invitations to all parties to visit Ningxia for joint discussions on cooperation, seeking new opportunities to strengthen friendly exchanges and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between local governments of China and the ROK.
