China (Ningxia)-Germany Promotion Meeting of Specialty and Competitive Industries Held in Munich

The China (Ningxia)-Germany Promotion Meeting of Specialty and Competitive Industries was successfully held in Munich, Germanyon October 30, 2025. The event was graced by over 100 attendees, including government officials, leaders of chambers of commerce, and corporate representatives from Germany.It featured addresses by Qiu Xuejun, Consul General of China in Munich, Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office,Armin Schwimmbeck, Head of the International Cooperation Departmentof Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, RitaRoider, China Affairs Director of the Munich Department of Labor and Economic Affairs, and Erhard Rau, President of the German Association for Economic and Cultural Promotion. It also featured themedpromotions on Ningxia’s key industries by Chen Zijun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Administrative Committee of Ningxia (Helan Mountains’EasternFoot) Wine Industry Park, and Zhou Tao, Chief Engineer of the Ningxia Forestry and Grassland Administration.

Consul General Qiu Xuejun welcomed the Ningxia delegation to Munich. He highlighted Ningxias role as a hub in the Belt and Road Initiative and the extensive cooperation potential between Ningxia and Bavaria in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, green technology, equipment manufacturing, culture, tourism, and health industry. He expressed hope that the event would foster mutual understanding and build a bridge for future exchanges and practical cooperation.

Bai Yuzhen elaborated on the guiding principles from the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, shared Ningxias achievements in pursuing high-quality development, and illustrated its practices in advancing Chinese modernization. She provided a comprehensive overview of Ningxias specialty and competitive industries, investment environment, development opportunities, and innovation vitality. Bai stated that Ningxia is committed to further opening up and improving its business environment to strengthen these sectors. She emphasized the regions readiness to deepen cooperation with Germany in modern agriculture, new energy, wine, goji berry, culture, and tourism, while also expanding sub-national and people-to-people exchanges.

Armin Schwimmbeck highlighted the strong alignment and promising prospects for collaboration between Bavaria and Ningxia, expressing a willingness to strengthen ties. Rita Roider stated that Franconia, a renowned wine region in Germany, is keen to maintain close contact with Ningxia to explore possibilities for cooperation in wine tourism and international friendship city relations. Erhard Rau expressed his hope to build an open, sustainable, and innovative cooperation platform with Ningxia, with culture as a bond and enterprise cooperation as the driving force. Chen Zijun and Zhou Tao delivered presentations on the development of Ningxias wine and forestry industries, respectively. Additionally, Christelle Chene from Ningxia Xige Estate shared her story of establishing a successful wine business in the region.

German guests sampled wines from the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains and various goji products. They engaged in lively and in-depth discussions with Ningxia officials and business representatives, demonstrating strong interest in collaboration. Many indicated a willingness to partner in areas such as international promotion and import agency business, so that more European consumers will become acquainted with high-quality wine and goji products from Ningxia. Several guests also voiced their eagerness to visit Ningxia soon to witness firsthand the regions development progress.

The promotion meeting yielded concrete outcomes, marked by the signing of MOUs on friendly cooperation between the German Association for Economic and Cultural Promotion and two Ningxia entities:the Administrative Committee of Ningxia (Helan Mountains’ Eastern Foot) Wine Industry Park and the Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.Additionally, a cooperation agreement was reached between the Ningxia Yizhong Winery and German Blank Auction House.
