The Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Development for African Officials commenced on October 20 in Ningxia. The seminar was attended by 45 officials representing the African Union and 44 African countries. Li Qi, Counselor of the Department of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, made an opening report. Fan Huafeng, Deputy Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office and Vice President of the Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, also delivered a speech.

Held under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the seminar has been held for two consecutive years. This year’s theme, “China’s Poverty Alleviation and Africa’s Development,” links Ningxia’s poverty alleviation practices to its engagements with Africa. The seminar features four topics: poverty alleviation, economic and trade cooperation, rural revitalization, and green development. The seminar brings together Ningxia-based experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and front-line workers for an exchange of insights through lectures, interactive field visits, hands-on demonstrations, and networking sessions. Through these activities, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of Ningxia’s practice in poverty alleviation and the story of Chinese modernization, obtaining valuable inspiration and references.
