From September 11 to 15, at the invitation of the Chinese Consulate General in Zamyn-Üüd, a 15-member delegation of local government officials from Mongolia’s Dundgovi, Umnugovi, Dornogovi, Sükhbaatar, and Dornod provinces visited Ningxia. During their stay, the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office (NXFAO) held an exchange meeting with the delegation to explore potential cooperation.

Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the NXFAO, briefed the delegation on Ningxia’s achievements in advancing Chinese modernization, as well as its friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with Mongolia. She stated that Ningxia stands ready to work with Mongolian localities under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state. By leveraging their complementary strengths, the two sides will bolster their comprehensive strategic partnership through enhanced cooperation in desertification control, priority industries, people-to-people ties, green development, modern agriculture, and youth exchanges.

Sandag Urjin, head of the delegation and Advisor to the Governor of Dundgovi Province, remarked that the visit was highly meaningful and rewarding. The members observed Ningxia’s high-quality social and economic development, including its achievements in clean energy, high and new technology, and desertification control, as well as its progress in culture-tourism integration and modern agriculture. They pledged to promote Ningxia’s successful practices and facilitate practical cooperation between their respective regions and Ningxia upon returning, contributing to China-Mongolia collaboration.

During their stay, the delegation attended the 2025 Meeting of NEAR Subcommittee on Tourism. They also visited the Shapotou National Nature Reserve, the solar power base of Baofeng Energy Group, Yinchuan Zhongke Eco-Power Co. Ltd., Helan Zhongdi Ecological Ranch Co. Ltd., Xixia Imperial Tombs, Beryl Goji Museum, and Paddy-Fish Space Ecopark to gain comprehensive insights into Ningxia’s social, economic and industrial development.

Fan Huafeng, Deputy Director-General of the NXFAO, and officials from the Asian and African Affairs Division, International Economic Cooperation Division, and General Office of Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended the meeting.
