On July 23, the China-Italy Political Dialogue was held in Beijing. Under the theme of “Strengthening China-Italy Political Party Dialogue: Common Development and Shared Responsibilities,” the dialogue aimed to deepen ties between the political parties of both countries and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy. Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, attended the dialogue and presented Ningxia to the visiting Italian political representatives and business leaders.

Bai Yuzhen highlighted Ningxia’s social and economic achievements in the new era and detailed its cooperation with Italy in areas including clean energy, fine chemicals, and international friendship city relations. She gave a specific note on Ningxia’s specialty and competitive industries, namely clean energy, culture and tourism, and its renowned wine sector, which drew a positive response from the Italian delegation. Francesco Vassallo, Vice Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Milan, said that Ningxia is a distinctive region and expressed his hope to deepen understanding and foster more exchanges with it. Maria Rosa Azzolina, President of the Istituto Italo Cinese, offered to help strengthen connections between Ningxia and various sectors in Italy, acting as a bridge for friendly relations. Meanwhile, Lorenzo Riccardi, President of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, expressed confidence in the potential for economic and trade cooperation, stating his readiness to introduce Ningxia to more Italian enterprises and promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Furthermore, Bai Yuzhen held working meetings with officials from the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC (IDCPC), including its Bureau VIII (Western European Affairs), Research Office, Protocol Bureau, and the China Economic Cooperation Center. Their discussions focused on leveraging the mechanism of practical party-to-party cooperation to effectively translate political ties into new momentum for the high-quality development of Ningxia.
