From February 24 to 25, a delegation of 24 government and business representatives led by Governor Nurlybek Nalibayev of Kyzylorda Region, Kazakhstan, visited Ningxia. The purpose of their visit was to explore Ningxia’s progress in modern agriculture, green development, and the energy and chemical sectors. The delegation and officials from Ningxia co-organized the Ningxia-Kyzylorda Economic and Trade Cooperation Meeting, aiming to enhance business matchmaking in a targeted manner and advance practical cooperation between the two regions. Zhang Yupu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Ningxia Committee and Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, met with the delegation, and Wang Li, Vice Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, attended the meeting.
During their stay, the delegation engaged in discussions with the Ningxia State Farm Group and Ningxia Guangyin Rice Company, looking into their undertakings in modern agriculture, rice cultivation, and animal husbandry. They also shared thoughts on potential cooperation regarding exchanges of agricultural technology, as well as production, processing, and trade of agricultural products. The delegates had on-site visits to the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, Mengniu Dairy (Ningxia) Company, and Yuanshi Vineyard, where they immersed themselves in Ningxia’s cutting-edge practices in energy and chemical industries, winemaking, dairy processing, and the integration of culture and tourism.
Governor Nalibayev and the delegation applauded Ningxia’s achievements in economic and social development. They considered Ningxia’s innovative approaches in modern agriculture, energy and chemical industries, ecological governance, and industrial transformation as valuable lessons for Kyzylorda’s own development. Highlighting the solid foundation of their international friendship city relations and the complementary nature of their industries, they detected a broad spectrum for cooperation. The delegates expressed their wish to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen mutual learning and expand practical cooperation in trade, modern animal husbandry, water-saving irrigation, rice cultivation, and personnel exchanges. The two sides were poised to achieve common development through win-win cooperation and to elevate the friendship city relations to new heights.
Going forward, the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office will follow up with the cooperation initiatives raised from this visit, and strengthen communication and coordination with the local departments and relevant enterprises of Kyzylorda Region, in order to align with the needs of various cooperation projects. The NXFAO is committed to nurturing the relationship between the two regions and seeing that practical cooperation bears fruit. This will be an effort to ensure Ningxia’s stable growth and development in 2025 while furthering the development of China-Kazakhstan relations.
