On August 22, the “Touching Sound” Musical Exchange Event was held in Yinchuan, which was organized by the Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (NPAFFC), Ningxia Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and German-Chinese Friendship Association Mainz-Wiesbaden.
David Jakob Schläger, a German tenor, and Guo Mengyao, a Chinese pianist based in Germany, conducted a masterclass for young singers and pianists in Ningxia, providing hands-on instruction and guidance. In the evening, artists from Germany and Ningxia participated in a professional musical exchange event. Ningxia artists opened with the local folk song Dance and Music of Lingzhou, followed by the piano solo Praise of the Yellow River and several Hua’er folk songs such as Thinking of You. David Jakob Schläger delivered outstanding solo performances, featuring classic works by Schumann such as Dichterliebe. The event concluded with a joint rendition of Jasmine Flower, celebrating a memorable night of enduring friendship. Music served as a bridge, and art as a universal language, deepening mutual understanding and bringing the hearts closer, laying a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
Going forward, the NPAFFC will continue to strengthen Ningxia’s cooperation with international friendship organizations by broadening exchange channels and establishing cooperation platforms. In doing so, the NPAFFC aims to enhance the friendly exchanges between Ningxia and localities of other countries, promoting practical cooperation in various fields such as international friendship relations, economy, trade, culture, tourism, science, education, as well as advantageous and specialty industries.
