From May 18 to 19, at the invitation of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, Adam Foster, President of the Helen Foster Snow Foundation, visited Ningxia. Following the tour to Minning Town, Yuanshi Vineyard and Rock Art in the Helan Mountains, Adam Foster gained insights into the development of Ningxia’s rural revitalization, wine industry, and integration of culture and tourism through on-site experiences of Ningxia’s practices of Chinese modernization. Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the NXFAO, met with Adam Foster.
Bai Yuzhen expressed her appreciation for the contributions made by the Foster family in supporting people-to-people exchanges between China and the United States, and the wish that the Foundation will continue to act as a bridge in further enhancing the understanding and mutual trust between Ningxia and Utah, as well as promoting closer cooperation among governments, businesses, and youths from both sides. She also extended a sincere invitation to friends from various sectors in Utah and the United States to visit Ningxia. As this is his first visit to Ningxia, Adam Foster expressed great pleasure in being able to explore the places where Edgar Snow once conducted his interviews. Given the contributions the Snows had made in presenting China to the world, he vowed to carry forward the family tradition of Helen Foster Snow by building bridges for the friendly relations between the two peoples.
Going forward, the NXFAO will continue to strengthen its ties with the Foundation, with a view to deepening mutual understanding, cultivate resources for friendship, and create new opportunities for friendly exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and the American peoples.
Fan Huafeng, Deputy Director-General of the NXFAO, accompanied Adam Foster during his visit.
