From March 29 to 30, Hong Soon Chang, Consul-General of the ROK in Xi’an, led a delegation to visit Ningxia. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the development of Ningxia’s specialty industries, explore areas of complementary advantages, and seek opportunities for cooperation. Lei Dongsheng, Member of Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Ningxia Committee, met with the delegation.

Following the delegation’s visits to the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, Hyosung Spandex (Ningxia) Co., Ltd., and Yuanshi Vineyard, they learned more about the development of Ningxia’s competitive and specialty industries, particularly in the energy and chemical industry sectors, integration of culture and tourism, as well as the wine industry. Additionally, fruitful discussions took place with key stakeholders to explore further collaboration between Ningxia and the ROK enterprises in these fields.

Hong Soon Chang said that during the visit, his first one to Ningxia since taking office, he finds Ningxia’s prominence and distinctive features in the development of the aforementioned industries, and that the Consulate General of the ROK in Xi’an will play an active role in fostering channels and establishing platforms, and work with various sectors of Ningxia in finding and matching convergence of interests, so as to facilitate the practical cooperation between the two sides in more fields and at advanced levels. In the mean time, the Consulate General will collaborate with Ningxia in providing better support to the ROK enterprises in Ningxia, attracting more of them to invest and develop business.

Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, and officials from related divisions accompanied the delegation during their visit.
