From December 3 to 12, Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, led a delegation to visit the US in an effort to actively implement the important consensus reached at the China-US summit in San Francisco and promote sub-national exchanges and cooperation between China and the US.

Aimed at enhancing sub-national communications and deepening international friendship city cooperation, the delegation traveled to California, Delaware, Chicago, Washington, and New York, where they met with senior officials such as the head of the California Government Operations Agency, the Secretary of State of Delaware, and the mayor of Napa. They also talked with representatives of institutions, universities, and friendship organizations such as Choose Chicago, Golden Gate University, and the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA Chicago and had meetings with Chinese community associations such as Ningxia Association in Washington and Fukien American Association. During these activities, the delegation carried out presentations, culture and tourism promotions, and wine tastings. They introduced the achievements of Ningxia’s economic and social development and its competitiveness in opening up, in a bid to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and the US in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, culture and tourism, international friendship cities, wine industry, and youth friendship. Two sessions of Promotion of Ningxia’s Wine Culture and Tourism were held in Napa and Manhattan, showcasing Ningxia’s resources on global platforms. By doing so, Ningxia is supporting the realization of the San Francisco vision through local endeavors.

As the first local delegation to visit the US after the China-US summit in San Francisco, the delegation focused on implementing the outcomes of the summit. They vividly presented Ningxia’s practices in pursuing the Chinese modernization, conducted extensive exchanges, and deepened friendship with various sectors in the US. The visit has achieved good results by promoting industries and deepening cooperation, while conveying warmth and goodwill.
