From October 30 to 31, Heng Poeu, the newly appointed Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Xi’an, led a delegation to visit Ningxia to learn about its modernized industrial system. Lei Dongsheng, member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the CPC Ningxia Committee, met with the delegation in Yinchuan.

In a bid to gain insights into Ningxia’s modernized industrial system characterized by modern agriculture and other speciality industries, the delegation visited Kaisheng Haofeng (Yinchuan) Industrial Park for Smart Protected Agriculture and Ningxia Xiaoming Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Company. Heng Poeu expressed the hope of exploring opportunities and complementary strengths for practical and enhanced cooperation between Cambodia and Ningxia.

Heng Poeu said that in order to implement the new important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries during the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the Consulate General of Cambodia in Xi’an will serve as a bridge and work with related parties in Ningxia to actively establish communication channels and build platforms for cooperation. The two sides could, through exchanges between sub-national governments, mutual visits between enterprises, promoting cultural and tourism resources, and resuming tourism charter flights, step up ties in economy and trade, international friendship city relations and people-to-people exchanges and promote practical cooperation among sub-national governments, industries and enterprises.

Officials of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office attended the meeting and accompanied the delegation during their visit.
