Zhang Liwei Meets with Vice Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an

On March 14, Zhang Liwei, Deputy Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office (NXFAO), met with a delegation led by Baibranizam Bin Brahim, Vice Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an. The two sides hadan in-depth exchange on enhancing friendship and boosting practical cooperation.


Zhang Liwei extended welcome to the delegation and briefed them on Ningxia’s efforts in building the Pilot Zone for Ecological Conservation and High-Quality Development in the Yellow River Basin. He noted that with a long-lasting friendship, Ningxia and Malaysia have close interactions in economy and trade, education, people-to-people exchanges and culture, which have yielded fruitful cooperation results. As this year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia and 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, it is his hope that the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an (the Consulate) would introduce Ningxia in the Malaysianpolitical and business circles, promote sub-national exchanges, and encourage Malaysian companies to invest in Ningxia, uplifting bilateral relations to new heights through practical projects.


Baibranizam Bin Brahim thanked the NXFAO for its efforts in deepening Ningxia’s cooperation with Malaysia in various fields and expressed that the Consulate will better play its role as a bridge to boost cooperation in fields including friendship cities, economy and trade, and education, and enhance understanding between the two peoples, thus making greater contribution to the building ofthe China-Malaysia community with a shared future.


Officials from the Asian and African Affairs Division and the General Office of Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries were also at the meeting.
