The ProWein 2022 in Düsseldorf kicked off on May 15 in Germany and the wine region at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains attracted many visitors with a booth showcasing top-notch wines made by 36 boutique wineries of Ningxia. The booth was inaugurated with both online and offline celebrations. Officials from the Administrative Committee of Ningxia (Helan Mountains’ Eastern Foot) Grape Industry Park, Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office (NXFAO), Ningxia Culture and Tourism Department, Ningxia Human Resources and Social Security Department and Ningxia Commerce Department, and representatives from relevant wineries attended the inauguration.
The Consulate General of China in Düsseldorf, as coordinated by NXFAO, rendered great support for Ningxia’s wines to be exhibited during the fair. Chang Haitao, Acting Consul General of China in Düsseldorf, attended the inauguration and delivered a speech through video link.
According to Chang, the ProWein is a world leading trade fair for wine and spirits. He noted that diplomatic missions act as an important source of information for Chinese local governments to carry out international exchanges and cooperation. The Consulate General of China in Düsseldorf has always been committed to promoting sub-national friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Germany in economy and trade. He hoped that with the help of the ProWein, Ningxia would make a step further in building itself into a world-renowned wine capital and write a new chapter of China-Germany exchanges, cooperation and development.
Going forward, NXFAO will further leverage its resources and maintain close ties with relevant consulates general of China in foreign countries, so as to contribute to the building of the Pilot Zone for Ecological Conservation and High-Quality Development of the Yellow River Basin.
