From September 25 to 29, invited by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), a 63-people delegation consisting of multinationals’ senior executives in China, youth representatives from Asian, African and Latin American countries and Chinese, and foreign media representatives from 22 countries visited Ningxia. The delegation attended the First China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo and witnessed Ningxia’s latest achievements in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, desertification prevention and control, scientific and technological innovation, and specialty industries, gaining a deeper understanding of the broad prospects of Ningxia’s high-quality development. Chen Run’er, Secretary of the CPC Ningxia Committee, and Xian Hui, Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, met with the multinationals’ senior executives in China and youth representatives from Asian, African and Latin American countries.
On September 25, the delegation attended the Promotion Meeting of Ningxia’s Specialty Industries jointly held by Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, Ningxia Development and Reform Commission, Ningxia Commerce Department and Administrative Committee of Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone. The delegation learned about the development goals of key and specialty industries in Ningxia’s 14th Five-Year Plan Period and Ningxia’s efforts to join in the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as Ningxia’s investment attraction and its demands for international cooperation.
On September 29, the CPAFFC and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region jointly held a seminar themed “China in My Eyes: My Experience in Ningxia”. The delegates had discussions on the poverty alleviation mode in Minning Town, Ningxia’s ecological conservation and green development efforts, and the development of emerging industries in Ningxia. Lin Songtian, President of the CPAFFC, Wang Heshan, Vice Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Gert Grobler, Former Ambassador of South Africa and senior researcher at the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University, attended the seminar and delivered speeches respectively.
Through on-site visits and discussions, the delegates learned about the great achievements Ningxia made in high-quality development and ecological conservation. They also witnessed the people’s happy life after absolute poverty was eradicated with the East-West coordination poverty alleviation efforts. The delegates expressed their willingness to strengthen exchanges with Ningxia and help present Ningxia to the world, thus facilitating Ningxia’s higher-standard opening up and high-quality development.
During their stay in Ningxia, the delegation visited Yinchuan LONGi Silicon Materials Co., Ltd., Ningxia KOCEL Co., Ltd., Yuanshi Vineyard, Jade Vineyard, Juncao Cultivation Base and Button Mushroom Planting Project in Minning Town, Ningxia Daylong Wine Co., Ltd., Paddy-Fish Space Ecopark, Ningxia Goji Museum, and Baijitan National Nature Reserve.
