The First China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo (the Expo) was inaugurated in Yinchuan on the morning of September 26 and Mario Lazzáro, General Manager of ProMendoza, Argentina, sent congratulations via a recorded video.
Lazzáro said that ProMendoza is committed to developing friendly relations with China, serving as a bridge in facilitating exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. As wine is one of the export products of Mendoza Province, Lazzáro expressed his willingness to take the Expo as an opportunity to promote the exchanges and cooperation in the wine industry between Mendoza and Ningxia, continuously enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
Mendoza is a world-renowned wine region, the output of which accounts for about 70% of Argentina’s total amount. In recent years, Ningxia and Mendoza Province have witnessed increasingly close exchanges. In 2019, government officials of Ningxia visited Mendoza to promote its wine and strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the industry. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides have been supporting and helping each other. This February, Ningxia joined in the online celebration of Mendoza’s Wine Harvest National Festival, an important national festival in Argentina, by encouraging winemaking enterprises to hold celebrations, producing congratulation videos and sending congratulatory letters. In the future, Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, by giving full play to its resources, will facilitate the signing of an MOU of cooperation among wine regions of Ningxia and Mendoza, so as to strengthen the cooperation in grape planting, winemaking techniques, brand development and personnel training.
