From July 28 to 30, assisted by Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office and Ningxia Education Department, student representatives from Ningxia’s three senior high schools attended the 2021 Global Youth Ocean Forum (the Forum) held in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The Forum, held by Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Research Institute and attracting 98 high school students from China, the ROK, Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia, consisted of online and offline activities. Under the theme of “Ocean, Start of a New Journey”, students engaged in active discussions and exchanged their ideas. Nine students and three teachers from Yinchuan No.1 High School, Yinchuan No.9 High School and Shizuishan No.3 High School of Ningxia attended the Forum and delivered speeches on marine plastic pollution and marine conservation. They exchanged ideas and discussed how to address relevant problems, hence strengthening communication and friendship.

The Forum not only deepens people-to-people and educational exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and Gyeongsangbuk-do, but also widens channels for Ningxia teenagers to engage in international exchanges and broaden their horizons. Students participating in the Forum said that this is a good opportunity to showcase Ningxia teenagers’ vitality and present Ningxia to the world. Meanwhile, they will further advance ecological conservation and pursue green development, making their own contribution to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
