Recently, the pupils of Class 7 Grade 5 at Yinchuan No. 21 Primary School sent a hand-made picture book to their counterparts at the Primary School Affiliated to Shimane University of Japan via Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office. The book, named My Homeland Ningxia, marks the third interaction between the two schools apart from online real-time communication and exchange of letters and videos.
The hand-made picture book, which is 4 centimeters thick, contains photos, pictures and texts that introduce Ningxia’s long history, rich culture, booming specialty industries, tasty food and captivating landscape. The book, showcasing Ningxia’s development and changes through the eyes of children, not only presents Ningxia as a charming place, but also bears witness to the friendliness of Ningxia children towards their Japanese counterparts. In the book, a student wrote: “I hope through this book, you will know more about beautiful Ningxia, my hometown. And I look forward to meeting you in Ningxia!”
The key to sound relations between states lies in amity between the people. Youth exchange constitutes an important part of the people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan. Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office will continue promoting the friendly youth exchange with its international friendship cities, with a view to deepening mutual understanding and fostering closer ties.
