Officials from international exchange and education departments from the two sides as well as 100 teachers and students from Yinchuan No. 21 Primary School and Affiliated School of Shimane University gathered online to deepen their friendship.

Students from Yinchuan No. 21 Primary School and the Affiliated School of Shimane University shared stories about their hometowns and introduced their history, culture, tourism resources, food and specialties through various ways and had Q&A sessions to offer more information.

With the ongoing pandemic, the exchange activity was moved online to promote exchanges and cooperation between friendly schools from Ningxia and Shimane. With this endeavor, students from the two sides got a chance to experience each others’ culture, enhance understanding and deepen their friendship, thus injecting new vitality into their schools’ friendly relations.

Since Ningxia and Shimane established friendly ties 28 years ago, the two sides have launched extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in education, culture, science and technology, environmental protection and etc. Facing the sudden strike of COVID-19 in 2020, they helped each other in the trying times, elevating their friendship to a higher level. The activity, the first of its kind, leads the way for Ningxia’s primary and high schools to conduct online exchanges .

Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office will further leverage its resources to help local schools with international cooperation. Through similar activities, long-term exchange mechanisms will be established to enhance people-to-people connectivity.
