The anti-pandemic supplies donated by Ningxia to its international friendship province, the Department of Casanare in Columbia, arrived at the destination recently. This is the first time that Ningxia made a donation to an international friendship province in Latin America. Salomón Sanabria, Governor of Casanare, recorded a video expressing his appreciation for the donation despite being infected with COVID-19. He hoped that the friendly relations between Casanare and Ningxia could be strengthened. The donation was covered by the department-run broadcast and major local media in Casanare.

 
Casanare is facing an increasingly serious COVID-19 situation with over 100 new cases confirmed each day. Salomón Sanabria said that Ningxia’s donation is a much-needed help which will greatly relieve the shortage of medical supplies faced by Casanare. Ningxia and Casanare signed the Letter of Intent on Establishing Friendly Relations in September, 2018. As a symbol of friendship between the two sides, Ningxia’s donation put into practice the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and a global community of health for all proposed by President Xi Jinping.

 
For the next step, Ningxia will consolidate its friendly relations with Casanare through pragmatic exchanges and cooperation, so that the two sides will enter into the agreement of establishing friendly relations at an early date. The move will inject new energy into the friendly relations between China and Columbia which have lasted for over 40 years and set up a new platform for Ningxia to launch exchanges and cooperation with Latin American countries.
