A batch of medical supplies donated to Ningxia’s international friendship city, Fayoum of Egypt, left Yinchuan on September 21. The medical supplies, including 30,000 surgical masks and 1,000 medical protective suits, will be received by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population first and then forwarded to Fayoum.

As COVID-19 spreads across Africa, Ningxia offered assistance to African countries such as Morocco, Ethiopia and Mauritania to contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind. Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, learning about the difficulty faced by Fayoum in combating COVID-19 due to the shortage of anti-pandemic materials, coordinated this donation to help the locals fight against COVID-19.
Ningxia and Fayoum established international friendship city relations in November, 2008. The friendly relations has been deepened thanks to various exchanges and cooperation platforms including the China-Arab States Expo. The Fifth China-Arab States Expo will be held in 2021, which will see intensified pragmatic cooperation between Ningxia and Egypt in trade and economy, agriculture, science and technology, education and people-to-people exchanges, facilitating higher-standard opening up of Ningxia.

Good friends feel close even when they are thousands of miles apart. COVID-19 will not affect the deep friendship between Ningxia and Fayoum. The people of the two sides join their hands to fight the disease, which will inject new energy into the friendly exchanges between China and Egypt at sub-national level. Ningxia will make its own contribution to the cause of building China-Africa community with a shared future and deepening friendship between China and Africa.‍
