Video Conference Held Between Ningxia and Gyeongsangbuk-do

On September 10, Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office held a video conference with the Foreign Affairs and Trade Division of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government of the Republic of Korea (the ROK), discussing matters including establishing international friendship city relations and enhancing exchanges and cooperation amid COVID-19 pandemic.
Han Jae-sung, Director of Foreign Affairs and Trade Division of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government, briefed the Ningxia side on the progress of the establishment of international friendship city relations between the two sides, which will be examined on a meeting to be held in November. He suggested gradual resumption of online communication and exchanges as the COVID-19 pandemic is under better control. In particular he hoped to hold online business talks for import and export enterprises as soon as possible, so as to facilitate resumption of work and production and reduce the impact of the pandemic.
Bai Yuzhen, Deputy Director-General of Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, congratulated Han Jae-sung on taking office and thanked Gyeongsangbuk-do for its efforts to promote friendly relations. She expressed her willingness to strengthen communication and invite enterprises to attend online talks. She suggested making sufficient preparation for this year’s Ningxia International Youth Friendship Camp by combining efforts online and offline.
This conference is a forceful measure by the two sides to make plans for common development in the post-COVID-19 era. In the future they will resume exchanges and cooperation step by step to make the friendly relations deliver more results.
