On July 17, Ningxia donated 30,000 disposable medical masks to Chui Region, Kyrgyzstan, helping local government and people with their COVID-19 containment efforts. “From Solidarity Comes Our Strength for Survival” were printed in Chinese and English on the packages, conveying Ningxia’s support for Kyrgyzstan. 

As close neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners, China and Kyrgyzstan have seen substantial achievements in their relationship in recent years with the support of the leaders of the two countries. With enhanced mutual political trust, fruitful results in the joint pursuit of the Belt and Road Initiative, and booming people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation, the two countries have set an example of a new type country-to-country relations featuring mutual respect and benefits, equal-footed and win-win cooperation. 

Ningxia and Chui Region were tied as international friendship cities in December, 2014. Since then the two sides have witnessed sound exchanges and cooperation in many fields and frequent high-level visits, laying a solid foundation for mutual understanding and win-win cooperation. As of 16:00 on July 16, Kyrgyzstan has reported 12,498 confirmed COVID-19 cases. In view of the grim situation that Chui Region faces, Ningxia raised the donation to help it fight the virus.
