Seminar on Poverty Alleviation for Officials of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan Opens in Ningxia

On April 18, a seminar on poverty alleviation for officials of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan(PDPT) kicked off at the Party School of the CPC NingxiaCommittee. The opening ceremony was attended and addressed by Zhuang Yan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Ningxia Committee; Maliksho Ne’matzoda, First Deputy Chairman of PDPT; and Mirzokosim Karimzoda, Deputy Chairman of PDPT. Professor Wang Qiong, Vice President of the Party School, delivered the opening lecture. The seminar, presided over by Bai Yuzhen, Director-General of the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, brought together 30 participants from thecentral and local executive committees of PDPT.

In his remarks, Zhuang Yan noted that poverty eradication is a shared aspiration of all nations and an urgent need deeply resonating across the Global South. He expressed Ningxia’s readiness to leverage the China-Central Asia Cooperation Center for Combating Desertification as a platform to enhance exchanges on poverty alleviation with Tajikistan. Furthermore, Ningxia aims to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajik localities in trade and investment, clean energy, ecological conservation, as well as people-to-people and youth exchanges, thereby creating a new engine for China-Central Asia cooperation.

Ne’matzoda spoke highly of the successful implementation of the CPC’s governance strategy in Ningxia. He specifically highlighted the Minning collaboration model—a mechanism spearheaded and championed by General Secretary Xi Jinping—as a stellar example of poverty alleviation with Chinese characteristics. He noted that this model offers valuable Chinese solutions and the Ningxia experience for PDPT to draw upon. Looking ahead, he expressed a strong commitment to following the strategic guidance of the two heads of state to further advance practical cooperation between Tajikistan and China, particularly with Ningxia, across various sectors.

Cooperation in poverty alleviationis a crucial component inthe China-Central Asia relations. The seminar featured lectures by experts and scholars on the Minning collaboration model, rural revitalization, and ecological conservation, offering an in-depth look at how China’s poverty alleviationmeasures have been successfully applied in Ningxia. Additionally, it included field trips to the local communities, ecological restoration projects, and sites showcasing ethnic unity and Ningxia’s specialty and competitive industries. Through these immersive experiences and in-depth discussions, the seminar aimed to maximize learning outcomes and practical effectiveness for all participants.
