On April 10, an online meeting was held between Ningxia and its international friendship city, Casanare Department of Colombia. Attendees include key representatives from the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, the Ningxia Education Department, the Ningxia of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department, the Ningxia People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Governor’s Office of Casanare, as well as officials from the Secretariat of Agriculture and Education in Casanare.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on how to promote exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and Casanare. The NXFAO presented an overview of the preparations for the upcoming Fourth Ningxia International Friendship Cities Forum and the Fifth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, and extended a warm invitation to a Casanare government delegation on a visit to Ningxia and participate in relevant events.
Casanare Department, in turn, highlighted its natural resources, key industries, and the potential for cooperation with Ningxia in education and agriculture. Officials from Casanare proposed for more opportunities given to its students to study in China through exchange programs between schools, and for driving the modernization of agriculture through joint training sessions on agricultural techniques. With a keen interest in the Fourth Ningxia International Friendship Cities Forum and the Fifth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, they responded positively to the invitation.
Going forward, the NXFAO is committed to leveraging its strengths to foster a stronger partnership between Ningxia and its international friendship cities. Efforts will be stepped up to facilitate international cooperation across various sectors between Ningxia and Casanare, in order to drive high-level collaboration and high-quality development in areas including economy and trade, agriculture, and education.
